MATTHEW BOHN - HEAD COACH

Coach Matt Bohn is in his 7th season as the Staples High School Boys Ice Hockey head coach. He is also an assistant WR/DB football coach at Staples. Coach Bohn grew up in Canonsburg, PA, outside of Pittsburgh where he played ice hockey and football for Canon-McMillan HS. He went on to play college ice hockey for the California University of PA Vulcans, helping lead them to a 2008 ACHA D-III national championship. Coach Bohn is a Level 4 USA Hockey coach and works as a special education teacher at Staples HS. He resides in Redding, CT with his wife, Ginny, and their many animals.

GILL GALLAGHER - ASSISTANT COACH

This is Coach Gallagher’s 7th season with the Wreckers. The New Jersey native and current Milford CT Police detective brings a wealth of hockey knowledge to the Wreckers. Gill’s hockey development, skill, and love for the game brought her to numerous select camps including Hockey Night in Boston, the University of Maine, as well as three years at the USA Hockey Olympic camp. Coach Gill played four years with Quinnipiac’s Division 1 program, further building her ability to compete at the highest level. Upon graduation in 2005, Gill received the Criminal Justice Service Award and was runner up for the Hockey Humanitarian Award. Transitioning into coaching, Coach Gill brings the same sharp focus to that role as she did as player. As a USA Hockey Level 5 coach with a thesis in Off-Ice Training, Coach Gill’s focus is on the denfense, skill development and power skating.

JEB BOYRER - ASSISTANT COACH

Coach Jeb Boyrer is in his first season as an Assistant Coach with Stormac and has 18 years of playing experience. Growing up in Norwalk, CT, he attended Norwalk High School, where he was a four-year Varsity skater for the NorMac Co-Op. Boyrer captained NorMac during both his junior and senior seasons, becoming a 100+ point scorer. He helped lead the team to its first winning season and CIAC Playoff win since 2004–2005 in 2020, before the season was cut short due to the pandemic. He was a two-time First Team All-State forward and was a member of CT HS Hockey's 2020 Team of the Year. Boyrer is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, where he earned a B.S. in Health and Physical Education and he currently teaches Health and Physical Education at Staples High School. In addition to assisting in all areas of team play, with a particular focus on offense and the power play, he will also support the boys in their off-ice mobility and yoga training.
